ART | Her photography centers around the ordinary, and turning living and inanimate objects into abstractions; alongside landscapes, portraits, and street photography.
BIO | Born in Italy and raised in Washington DC, she completed a BA in journalism and an MFA in creative nonfiction writing in New York City.
After graduating she began working in educational and social justice based organizations alongside being a community and youth organizer in the Greater Washington DC Area.
She then moved to Eritrea where she began working at a local nongovernmental organization as a peacebuilding practitioner in conflict resolution initiatives in the Horn of Africa; alongside working on Global North and Global South community partnership and international projects.
Saba is a writer, photographer, and educator. She has received writing fellowships from Callaloo, Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing, and was a selected mentee for the Association of Writers and Writing programs; she was also nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She has received arts and culture fellowships from The Teaching Artist Project, and The African Arts Institute in Cape Town, South Africa.
